Lessons in bass on the big lake
This is about the time of year when I plan my weeks around trips to Lake Champlain. The bass are pretty much through with spawning and heading off to their deeper summer haunts. While they can still be caught in relatively shallow water in the early mornings and late evenings, bass are more likely to be found avoiding sunlight during the day's high hours. Largemouth will be found in the thickest
