Applegate's backing boosted Arkansas bass fishing
It's not really a stretch to call Dr. Stanley Applegate the Queen Isabella of bass fishing. Applegate's finances boosted Ray Scott at a critical time in putting on the first bass tournament as we know them today. This was in 1967 at then-new and hot Beaver Lake in Northwest
