Down-home Mozart
In Sunday afternoon's semi-staged production of Mozart's The Magic Flute at Bass Hall, the rustic bird catcher Papageno sports a Stetson for his first aria. Fishing rods with stuffed birds on the ends flutter around him, while the Three Ladies, wearing poodle skirts and colorful neck scarves, curiously look on.
