Moneymakers: Bass Pro Shop's Mark Emken does not run a 'cookie-cutter' store
Mega-sports retailer Bass Pro Shops began life as a bait counter at the rear of a liquor store in Springfield, Mo., in 1972. That humble beginning spawned a nationwide chain that has grown to include 47 stores, 100 million catalogs mailed annually, and reportedly some $1.9 billion in revenues a year.
